Air-Fried Buffalo Chicken Tender Sliders

These sliders taste just like Chili’s former best seller – buffalo chicken tender sliders. I don’t know why they took them off the menu! They were so good. Well, now you can enjoy them without the greasy frying. Check out the companion recipe for the homemade, non-fat ranch sauce. These were the perfect meal before the Super Bowl!

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs chicken tenders

  • 1/3 cup of flour

  • 1 cup plain bread crumbs

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tsp granulated garlic

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp dried sage

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp paprika

  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce (like Frank’s Red Hot Wing Sauce)

  • 1/2 cup homemade ranch dressing – see http://www.cookingupjustice.com/ranch-dressing

  • 8 slider buns – I used brioche slider buns from Aldi’s

Directions

  • Preheat air-fryer to 400 degrees.
  • In a shallow bowl for dredging, add flour.
  • Mix in seasonings into the four.
  • In another shallow bowl, add the eggs and whisk.
  • In another shallow bowl, add the bread crumbs.
  • Begin by adding each chicken tender, first to the flour, then to the egg, then to the bread crumbs. Set each tender on a plate.
  • Once dredging is done, add the chicken tenders to the base of your air fryer. Air fry for 5-10 minutes each side depending on how thick your tenders are. Flip at half-way through. Cook until thickest part of the tender reaches 165 degrees. Note, if you overcrowd the airfryer, it will take longer to cook. Place in the base so that none of the tenders are overlapping.
  • Add the tender to a slider bun. Add 1 TBS of ranch dressing and 1 TBS of buffalo sauce to the top of the tender.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

  • You can bread the tenders earlier in the day (or day before) to save time.
