Freshly Squeezed Lemonade

Today is New Year’s Eve. My underage daughter wanted a treat to toast the festivities at midnight, so she decided to make lemonade from scratch using fresh lemons. It came out so tasty, that I decided to share the recipe.

Freshly Squeezed Lemonade

Ingredients

  • 8 lemons, yield 1 cup of juice

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/2 cup water (for simple syrup)

  • 1 cup of water

  • Ice

Directions

  • Add sugar and water to a pot. Heat until the sugar dissolves. Put to the side.
  • Squeeze lemons.
  • Using a strainer, add the juice of the lemons into a measuring cup. Continue squeezing until you have one cup of juice.
  • Add ice to a pitcher.
  • Pour lemon juice and simple syrup over ice.
  • Add additional water to pitcher. Mix and serve.

Notes

  • Make it a cocktail by adding a shot of lemon vodka!
  • Make it an Arnold Palmer by adding a cup of freshly brewed iced tea!
