Bananas Foster

I love this New Orleans treat, but I decided to try to make it a little healthier. The dessert was so quick to pull together. It was super tasty with my simple replacements. While I made the sauce healthier, I served it over vanilla ice cream.

Bananas Foster

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana, sliced

  • 1 TBS I can’t believe it’s not butter

  • 2 TBS Truvia brown sugar

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 TBS light rum

  • Vanilla ice cream

Directions

  • Slice banana.
  • In pan, melt the I can’t believe it’s not butter with the truvia and cinnamon over low heat. Once the butter melts, add the vanilla extract. Then add the banana slices.
  • Cook the banana slices for 1 minute per side on low heat coating each side of the banana as it cooks.
  • Add the rum and flambe.
  • Serve immediately over vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • The sauce is so tasty, you don’t even need the ice cream.
