I love this New Orleans treat, but I decided to try to make it a little healthier. The dessert was so quick to pull together. It was super tasty with my simple replacements. While I made the sauce healthier, I served it over vanilla ice cream.
Bananas Foster

1 ripe banana, sliced
1 TBS I can’t believe it’s not butter
2 TBS Truvia brown sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1 TBS light rum
Vanilla ice cream
Directions
- Slice banana.
- In pan, melt the I can’t believe it’s not butter with the truvia and cinnamon over low heat. Once the butter melts, add the vanilla extract. Then add the banana slices.
- Cook the banana slices for 1 minute per side on low heat coating each side of the banana as it cooks.
- Add the rum and flambe.
- Serve immediately over vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- The sauce is so tasty, you don’t even need the ice cream.
