This is one of my classic Thanksgiving sides. I once made a fancy version from scratch, and my husband missed the Campbell’s soup version. So here’s my husband’s favorite version of Green Bean Casserole.

2 cans of French cut green beans
10 oz. / 1 can Cream of Mushroom soup (I use Campbell’s 99% fat-free version)
1/2 cup of skim milk
1 tsp soy sauce
1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 cup fried onions (like French’s), reserve half for topping
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In large bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup, skim milk, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Drain green beans.
- Add green beans and 1/2 of the fried onions to the soup mixture.
- Add green beans to casserole dish.
- Bake for half hour.
- At half hour, remove from oven and place remaining fried onions on top of the casserole.
- Bake for another ten minutes.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- This is a classic recipe. Feel free to use fresh green beans, fresh cut canned green beans, or a mix of fresh and canned. You can also change the flavors by using different cream-based soups.
